Sandra Okunzuwa is a phenomenal actress, an epitome of beauty with brains, and an exceptional filmmaker, lawyer, show host, and humanitarian. She’s the CEO of Greenwealth Production which was registered in 2021 and so far, she has more than 7 movies to her credit.

She debuted in her career as a video vixen with a cameo appearance in Skales love song titled, “Badman Love” in 2020. In November 2021, she anchored the Africa Choice Awards alongside BBN’s Ike.

In 2022, she released, “Enitan” which was selected for screening at the African Film Festival. The actress revealed that she was sexually abused at a very young age and suffered mental issues that inspired the film. Although she is now aware of her rights to persecute the abuser she doesn’t want it to be generalized and face stigmatization because of it.

The film, “Enitan” is about a woman who’s not getting sexual satisfaction from her husband and decides to go outside to a group of thugs who slept with her. She later faced serious consequences when her husband found out.

The light-skinned actress said she faced a lot physically, mentally, and spiritually when acting the role and had to put herself in the character to give top-notch performances. She also said she went for several spiritual cleanses.

In 2023, Sandra Okunzuwa made a big move and released a cinema movie, “Something Like Gold” featuring Kunle Remi, Mercy Johnson, Brodashaggi, and many others, which reached N60 million at the Box Office on December 1, 2023. 

The actress revealed during an interview that she had to borrow a loan to fund the cinema movie. The film emerged as the Highest Grossing Nollywood movie 10 days after it was released in August 2023.

With all these, it’s safe to call her the Box Office Queen. Apart from being the Queen Of Box Queen, she’s also a reigning star on popular digital platform, YouTube.

She noted that she was told that when kissing on sets, there should not be any form of tongue contact to avoid the exchange of saliva and besides, she doesn’t know the medical conditions of who she’s kissing.

She said she was also told that one can play with the lips and eyes to make it real but not tongue contact. When asked if she gets emotionally attached to any actor she kisses, she said “No”, adding that the place one is filming is not always conducive and that there are many people in the room behind the camera watching.

She also said one would sweat so hard and will try memorising one’s lines which practically made it impossible to become emotionally attached to any actor one kisses.

Sandra was born on February 25, 1996, to Mr Okunzuwa and Mrs Gladys Okunzuwa in Benin City, Edo State. She’s a native of Esan in Edo State and is from a family of 5. She’s blessed with 2 siblings, Onome Sally Okunzuwa(late) and Faith Okunzuwa.

Sandra attended Federal Government Girl College(FGCC) in Edo and later proceeded to the University Of Benin where she bagged a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2015.

Despite being a lawyer by profession, her zeal and enthusiasm for becoming an actress were strong as she forged ahead in her acting career. She joined Nollywood in 2018 and since then, she has carved a niche for herself, overcoming boundaries and achieving goals.

Sandra wasn’t born with a silver spoon. Her parents were average class and very hard-working and that was the path she walked through. She noted during an interview with “The Sun” in January 2023, that she never had what she wanted and needed, and that was why she had to work hard.

During an interview with “The Sun” in January 2023, when she was asked if the abuse made her resent men, she said she’s not afraid of marriage and that it’s a beautiful thing. She said before, the sexual abuse she experienced made her resent men but not anymore as she has healed.

Sandra noted that she would like to get married to a god-fearing, supportive, hardworking, caring, patient, and trusting, not an abusive and controlling man.
