Gbemisola Scarlet Gomez Shotade who’s popularly known as Scarlet Gomez is an amazing and naturally beautiful actress, singer, ex-beauty Queen, model, video vixen, and filmmaker.

She’s well known for her role as “Wura” in Showmax Original Telenovela “Wura” and also for a hit YouTube movie titled “In Your Heart” alongside Deza The Great.

She termed herself an “Ethereal being” meaning an extremely delicate and light in a way that seems not to be of this world. She’s also a lover of God.

Scarlet drew inspiration from her late father, Adetokunbo Shotade aka Toks who was a renowned sound engineer and music producer. She started working with him at age 7 and fell in love with the entertainment industry.

Gbemisola made her acting debut in 2014 in African Magic’s Original film Scarlet. She’s known for her role as “Fadekemi” in the African Magic TV series My Flatmates and for her breakthrough role in the African Magic Original film Armour. 

However, her role in Showmax’s Original Telenovela, “Wura” which premiered on Showmax TV, in January 2023, kept her in the spotlight. She played a villain character in ‘Wura” and Netizens couldn’t help but admire her acting prowess.

On December 17, 2023, she was honored with “Actor Of The Year” Award at Lagos Stand Out Honours 2023 alongside stars like Ninalowo Bolanle, Damilola Oni, Itele Icon and many others. The indicator for the Award was Cultural Impact, Audience Reception, and Career Development where she scored an overall 94%.

Just like every other person in the world, Scarlet has had her share of pain and sorrow but keeps rising above the waters as she waxes stronger. She lost her father, Tokunbo Shotade in 2001, lost her elder brother Gbenga Shotade in 2018, and lost her child, Eli Gomez in  2019.

She’s happily married to an ever-supportive husband, Temi Gomez, a music producer and talent manager.

Gbemisola Scarlet Gomez was born to the family of Mr and Mrs Shotade on May 12, 1992, in Lagos. Her late father, Adetokunbo Shotade aka Toks was a renowned sound engineer and music producer. 

Mr Toks died on May 1, 2001, and her elder brother, Gbenga Shotade died on August 31, 2018.

She’s blessed with a lovely mother who’s still alive, strong, hale, and hearty, and also blessed with her number one fan(Temi Gomez, her husband).

Scarlet attended Princeton School and later proceeded to Ogunlade College for her Secondary School. She also attended the University of Lagos where she bagged a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

She got inspired by her father, a notable music producer and sound engineer, and started working with him at age 7. Scarlet was able to release her first studio album, Scarlet Letter in 2014.
