Chidi Geoffrey Azubuike Mokeme Jr who’s popularly known as Chidi Mokeme is a renowned veteran actor, fashion model, transformational speaker and entrepreneur.

Mokeme is a man with exceptional talents and his acting prowess is top-notch as he has been listed severally as of the most talented and bankable actors in Nollywood.

The tall actor kick-started his career as a fashion and commercial model in the 1990s and developed a strong passion in Nollywood while studying at Yaba College Of Technology.

Years ago, the actor took a long break from Nollywood. During his Interview on Channels TV’s Rubbin Minds, he revealed why he was away from the movie industry for a long time.

The actor who marked his golden jubilee(Age 50) in March 2022 said he was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, a rare condition that weakens the muscles in one side of the face.

He said as the cast and crew of the 2016’s movie, ’76 prepared to go on the trip to the UK for the British International Film Festival, he came down with the condition.

He noted that the rare condition was something that the Doctors said was incurable because they didn’t know what caused it.

Chidi Mokeme added that he thought it was something he could move around with as he tried to come to Lagos for the premiere of the 2016’s movie, 76, but later knew it was not something that he could not work with. So he tried out several remedies to solve the problem on his face while doing other businesses apart from acting.

He has managed the rare medical condition, Bell’s Palsy for years and has been active in the Nollywood  industry. He’s healthy and strong as he constantly shares lovely photos and videos on his verifired Instagram page.

In the last 5 years, he has starred in a couple of cinema movies and has bagged several nominations and awards. His stellar performance in “Scar”, a movie released in January 2023, which received positive reviews from fans home and abroad.

Chidi brought his A-game on set and reminded his fans that he still knows how to play the “Bad Boy” roles as he thrilled them with  acting prowess. While he was away from the movie industry for years, he lost his popularity and his comeback in Netflix movie, “Scar” where he played Aboderin shot him to the limelight again.

Since then, he has been consistent and has starred in several movies. Chidi was featured in Merry Men 3 Nemesis, a movie set to be premiered on October 13, 2023.

Mokeme was listed as one of the top 10 wealthiest actors in Nigeria. His fashion sense is top-notch and loves to travel. He is living his dream life. 

Chidi got married to Jean Chinwe Olumba Mokeme on April 28, 2023 and is blessed with one son. His wife, Jean was born in the US and works as a Doctor. The couple lives in Maryland, the US with their son, Akachukwu Noah Mokeme(Born March 11, 2015(age 8)

There’s a report that he has a son, Emem Daniel Kosisochukwu Mokeme with journalist Adia Ukoyen who was Godswill Obot Akpabio’s special adviser on Media Matters. Emem was born June 14, 1998.

Biography

Chidi Geoffrey Azubuike Mokeme Jr was born on March 17, 1972(age 51) to Geoffrey Azubuike Mokeme Snr, an Insurance Broker and to Mrs Angelina Mokeme, a Teacher and Administrator. He’s a native of Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area. He has four siblings(Uche, Ebele, Anugo, and Chioma Mokeme).

The actor lost his younger sister, Ebele Mokeme at 47 to an illness and lost his cousin, Nicole who was killed by a Hit-and-Run Driver. Both on June 23, 2022. Chidi experienced different cultural background and ethnic diversities that’s why he’s able to speak three different languages, “Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa”.

He was raised in Surulere, Lagos where he had his primary education, then proceeded to Federal Government College, Minna, Niger State. Chidi obtained a National Diploma in Computer Science from the Institute of Management And Technology and later went to Yaba College Of Technology for his Higher National Diploma.
