Okawa Shaznay is a Cameroonian Star who made her first appearance in Nollywood with the movie, Iyore in 2014.

Iyore is an African epic movie shot in Benin City in 2014 and released in 2015, starring high profile Nollywood stars like Rita Dominic, Joseph Benjamin and Paul Obazele.

Nigerian Movies like Glamour Girls and Series like “After The Storm” inspire her a lot. She was also inspired by veteran Nollywood stars like Rita Dominic, Ramsey Nouah, Ini Edo, and Desmond Elliot.

Through the help of Frank Rajah and Kwame Boadu of Raj and Heroes Film Production, she was able to join Nollywood and get substantial roles. She has appeared in over 20 movies since her first appearance in 2014.

The delectable actress worked as a Banker in Houston but her love for acting conquers all. In 2016, she played Delilah in “The Mysterious Case Of Delilah Ambrose”, a TV series that shot her to the limelight. She also starred in Frank Rajah’s hit film, The Refugees in 2016.

She starred in “Tarella”, an African Fairytale movie selected For African International Film Festival scheduled from November 5 to November 11, 2023. Some of her latest movies are Twisted Mind, A Necessary Step, The Secret, Not Just Marriage, Not My Man and many more. 

Okawa Shaznay is well known for playing romantic roles and has acted love roles with top Nollywood stars like Maurice Sam, Kenneth Nwadike, Eddie Watson, and many others.

Regarding her career ambition, the dark-skinned actress has plans to explore other parts of filmmaking and is currently focused on delivering top-notch performances in every movie she starred in while placing her eye on what field in filmmaking she will try her hands at.

Okawa Shaznay was born on May 29, 1986(age 37) to Mr and Mrs Shaznay and is a native of Bemanda, North West Cameroon. She attended her primary and secondary school education in Cameroon and proceeded to Texas Southern University where she bagged a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Her parents were initially skeptical about her acting career. She wanted to Theatre Arts but was told to study accounting since she was good at Business Mathematics, Commerce and Economics. 

They said she might not get roles in movies after school and was better she did another course to be on a safer side. The actress completed her accounting degree and worked in a Bank in Houston before she quit acting.

In 2010, while studying in Texas, she represented Cameroon in the African US Beauty Pageant and did humanitarian works. That was her only and last major pageant.
