Court Orders Halima Abubakar To Pay Apostle Suleman For Defamation Or Risk Jail Terms

Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered popular actress, Halima Abubakar to comply and pay Apostle Suleman N10m for defamation while issuing her retraction to delete all links of defamatory stories about the Apostle from the Internet.

The High Court judgment was in favor of Apostle Johnson Suleman after Halima failed to back up all her defamatory comments with proof.

The court, on Monday, April 8, 2024, ruled that Halima would pay N10m to Apostle Suleiman for defaming him and pay N20m for his legal team fees.

She was also ordered to publish retractions in all major dailies including the one she first used for defamation.

Halima is also to make sure that all links containing the story are deleted from the internet and failure to do all these should land her in jail.
