Biography: Okon Lagos, His Wife, Daughters And Mansion

Ime Bishop Umoh aka Okon Lagos’ Grass-to-grace story can be attributed to God and his consistency in the Nollywood industry. He’s a native of Nsit Ibom, an Ibibio-speaking tribe in Akwa Ibom, and was born in August 1981. Also, he’s a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Uyo.

With that being said, let’s take a look at his acting career and success story. Okon Lagos started acting at a very young age and later rose to the limelight after starring in Emem Isong’s movie, Uyai in 2008. His role in Uyai paved way for other opportunities and he never relented despite the challenges that came with his acting career. Moving from one movie location to another in different states and also receiving peanuts for movie jobs were part of the many struggles he faced.

Umoh was known for his funny facial expression. This made him play comic roles for years. He was unbothered as he loved the comic character because it was his nature. The beautiful part of it is that he effortlessly entertains his fans and this alone is an achievement for him.

Over a decade, he has starred in over 100 movies, doing exceptionally well in all. Some of the popular ones are Silent Scandal(2009), Being Mrs. Elliot(2014), The Boss Is Mine(2016), Lost in London(2017), Boss Of All Bosses(2018), and many more.

Okon has entertained movie lovers for over a decade and his impact is greatly felt in society. In 2016, he was appointed as Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom state Governor, Udom Emmanuel on Ethical and Social Reorientation.

Okon Lagos is happily married to Idara Bishop Umoh. In 2013, they tied the knot in a lovely wedding ceremony and their union is blessed with 2 beautiful girls.

Okon is a family-oriented actor and puts his family first before any other thing. During leisure, he spends quality time with them. One of the saddest moments of his life was when he lost his mother in November 2022.

On September 4th, 2021, he announced the completion of his luxurious mansion. The beautiful edifice is located in Uyo. Okon gave Glory to God for his achievement and said that little Rome wasn’t built in a day. Also, he advised that people should be steady on their grind(hustle) and make it legit, then work hard and pray.
