Over the years, the Nollywood industry has become of the most lucrative sectors in Nigeria. Many producers and filmmakers that know the business side of it make millions from cinema movies. Movies are now monetized on global digital platforms like Netflix and Amazon, earning them thousands of dollars.
Although not all actors make money from this craft, a few of them have gained fame and popularity and remained consistent while utilizing every opportunity to make money. It’s a belief in Nigeria that Nollywood actresses sleep with big men to make money. That might be true but we still have the hard-working ones.
1. Destiny Etiko
She was on the 12th of August in 1989 in Enugu. A graduate of Theatre Arts from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, she started acting as a child actress but left to further her University education. She later joined in 2011 after her tertiary education. She’s well known for her role in Ernest Obi’s movie, Idemili, which shot her to the limelight in 2012. Since then, she has appeared in scores of movies. Currently, she’s one of the most successful young actresses in Nollywood. She recently renovated her mansion and added luxurious interiors to make it look like a royal palace. She rides a Mercedes Benz, Lexus LX570, and Toyota Prado.
2. Nkechi Blessing
She’s a very controversial actress. This has made her remain relevant in Nollywood as she builds a solid brand for herself. She was born on the 14th of February 1989 and is a native of Abia State. She joined the Yoruba movie industry in 2008 and rose to stardom after starring in scores of movies. Nkechi now plays lead roles in English and Yoruba movies. On the 28th of December 2021, she bought a beautiful edifice in Lagos and On the 2nd Of December 2022, she acquired a white Range Rover.
3. Adanma Luke
Adanma Juliet as she’s fondly called is one of the big fishes in Nollywood. She’s a calm, reserved, and confidential actress. Not popular as Destiny and Nkechi but is very successful. She was born on the 11th of June 1990 and is a native of Anambra State. She started acting in 2010 and has grown to be one of the top producers in Nollywood. She recently launched a clothing store in Lagos. Juliet acquired two mansions in Asaba, Delta State in less than 3 years. She rides a white Range Rover.
